The recession cost Americans millions of jobs between 2008 and 2009, but the staffing industry is one market that has experienced a speedy recovery from the collapse of the job market. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the staffing industry has recovered over the last 12 to 13 months as
employee recruiting picks up, even if it is on a temporary basis.
Dan Campbell, founder and chief executive officer of Hire Dynamics, an Atlanta-based staffing firm, told the paper he has seen his company undergo significant growth after a stalled 2009 when hiring froze. According to the paper, Hire Dynamics' revenue has grown by 25 percent over the last year.
"Staffing companies have traditionally been the shock absorbers of the economy," Campbell told the paper. "This January was 30 percent better last January, and we expect business to be vibrant for the next several years."
Yoh, a workforce solutions company, released in survey in December 2010 that found 80 percent of employers expect their temporary workforce including contractors, temporary staff, consultants and project teams, to grow in 2011. For companies in a financial pinch, these kind of workers can buoy a business until permanent employee recruiting can return.
