In today's fast-paced, internet-obsessed world, people have high expectations when it comes to the ease of connectivity and accessing information. Employee recruiting is no different. Human resources professionals can benefit from flexing their innovation muscles and implementing mobile recruitment strategies.
Mobile recruiting is an invaluable way to connect with future employees. According to a poll by Morgan Stanley, 9 out of 10 U.S. citizens have their cell phones within reach at all times.
"We're living in an on-demand culture," said Chris Hoyt, talent-engagement and marketing leader for PepsiCo, during his talk at the Society for Human Resource Management's Talent Management Conference & Exposition. "[Mobile recruitment] is all about connectivity on demand, when and where job seekers want it."
PepsiCo has been working on its mobile recruitment strategy for three years and has seen a big improvement in engagement. Hoyt told SHRM that some of the main benefits of this innovation are how it focuses on the job applicant's experience and creates more of a community.
Business Management Daily also points out that mobile recruitment connects HR with the "busy movers and shakers" who are desirable candidates and can remotely apply for positions.
